The First Dahlonega Brewery
After many years of waiting we finally have a craft beer brewery in Dahlonega. Known as Three Rangers Brewery and Dahlonega Brewery it is located in the Etowah Meadery location on Highway 19 North just four minutes away from Cedar House Inn and Yurts. Grand opening was September 11, 2020.
They plan to expand the brewery in November to the grey building across the parking lot from the current meadery tasting room to ramp up more production. The name originally was Dahlonega Brewery but Three Rangers Brewery was added to honor the Army Rangers. Blair Housley who started the meadery is the brewmaster for Dahlonega Brewery and Three Rangers Brewery.
We visited the new Dahlonega Brewery last Sunday because we were out of town for the September 11th grand opening. You can order flights or glasses of their craft beers in the meadery tasting room and sip your beers inside or outside under a covered porch or tables with umbrellas. A large gas fire pit provides a warm and inviting place to sit and sip around on a cool fall afternoon or evening. Corn hole is also available if you want to play.
The Craft Beers at Three Rangers Brewery
They currently brew six craft beers at the newest Dahlonega brewery that include a lager, wheat, pale ale, IPAs and a porter. A tasting sampler is $12.00 for 4 samples or you can order a glass.
- Pathfinder Lager- made with warrior and galaxy hops, ABV 5%, IBU 18
- Rally Point Wheat- made with warrior and centennial hops, ABV 5.4%, IBU 20.4
- Jumpmaster Pale Ale- made with warrior, citra and cascade hops, ABV 5.9%, IBU 36.5
- Door Kicker IPA- made with CTZ, simcoe and centennial hops, ABV 7.7%, IBU 51.1
- Trigger Puller DIPA- made with amarillo, CTZ and warrior hops, ABV 9.7%, IBU 67.3
- Overwatch Porter- made with EK goldings, fuggle and warrior hops, ABV 6.0%, IBU 39
We had a tasting of four beers which included 2,3,5 and 6. They ran out of number 1 lager and 4 which is an IPA. Pictures of our flight are shown above with respective numbers. All were good but we liked the porter the best and will probably order a glass next time we visit.
If craft beer is not your thing you can also order flights of sparkling mead for the same price mentioned above.
They also often have food trucks on weekends as well as live music. For more information on their latest events and news visit their Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/TheDahlonegaBrewery
