Capers on the Square
Mediterranean/Greek food located downtown on the square. The owner’s family is from Greece. Open daily for lunch and dinner, full bar. One of the popular Dahlonega restaurants on the square. They also sometimes feature foods from a specific country on certain months. You can also eat outdoors.
19 Degrees North
Located on the square with indoor and outdoor seating. Features seafood, steaks and comfort food. Many like to eat on the second floor enclosed front porch with a view of the historic square.
Shenanigan’s Restaurant & Irish Pub
Great food in an Irish Pub atmosphere. The bottom floor is very pub like with low ceilings and dollar bills attached to the ceilings celebrating a special moment or first drink at legal age (tends to be a little noisy if looking for quiet). There is also a screen porch and patio dining area adjacent to the pub like area. The second floor is up the stairs and is more traditional. The place is guest favorite. Free music on weekends, karaoke and trivia nights on weekdays. May accommodate vegans if you call ahead. Located right off the square. Indoor and outdoor seating. One of the popular Dahlonega restaurants. They really do St, Paddy’s day well and shuck oysters for shamrocks.
Great pizza and great crust- New York style. By the slice for lunch or whole pizza. You can order a basic cheese pizza all the way to the kitchen sink (our favorite) Good beer selection also with many local beers. You can also order a flight of beers. On Thursdays they sometimes have pint nights with a brewery featured and you get to keep the brewery glass. They also have traditional Italian entrees like pasta and huge calzones big enough to share. Decor is pub like with a large bar you can sit at or your own table.. Right on the square. Affordable also. Good place to watch the game. Live music sometimes.
Bourbon Street Grill
New Orleans/cajun style food in one of the oldest retail buildings in town. You go up the old stairs to get to the restaurant and notice how the stair risers are worn down from many years of foot traffic. On the first floor there are art galleries to browse before or after dinner. Out back on the first floor is patio dining with fire tables during the colder months. On the upper floor you can eat on the front porch under cover but outside and view the square below as you eat like a Bourbon Street eatery in New Orleans.
Unique cocktails, live music, craft beer and build your own gourmet hamburgers. We like their grass fed hamburger and farm to table sides. The restaurant decor is pub like with a long bar to sit at or have a private table. Tends to be noisy on weekends.
Pueblos Mexican Restaurant
A favorite for Mexican food and great option for vegetarians. They are located across the street from their normal location while the restaurant is being totally renovated. Affordable and authentic Mexican food and good margaritas (not too weak or too strong). Live music at times
Yahoola Creek Grill
This restaurant is located on the way into town and has great food and local wines and spirits. Large picture at top of page is their dining area so you can see the decor is casual with a little formal. Known for southern cooking with flair such as fried green tomatoes, shrimp and grits and more. You can also eat on the back porch.
Bratzeit German Restaurant
77 Memorial Drive
Dahlonega, GA 30533
Authentic German food made by owners from Germany. A larger variety of schnitzels with sides like potato salad and kraut. German beer and desserts. Decor is simple and the restaurant use to be a Subway. Make a reservation if you want their famous fondue.
51 North Grove Street
Dahlonega, GA 30533
Authentic Italian food with full bar. Extensive menu and our guests enjoy the food and service.
Le Vigne Ristorante at Montaluce Winery
The restaurant at Montaluce Winery and Vineyards offers lunch and dinner dining (Lunch, Tuesday thru Sunday, 11-3 and Dinner, Friday and Saturday only, 5-10). The venue is probably the nicest restaurant of all. Building architecture was designed using a Tuscan theme with high beamed ceilings, stucco walls, nice art on the walls, a kitchen that can be seen from the dining room and an adjoining wine tasting area with a long bar. Large windows enable guests to have great views of the vineyard below. Menu is not necessarily Italian but offers a variety of entrees. Call before you go.
Crimson Moon Cafe
Popular for live musical entertainment in the evenings. Cover charge for entertainment on weekends. Also serve dinner.
The Yard Bar and Restaurant

Frogtown Winery, Montaluce, Kaya and Wolf Mountain serves a lunch menu. Check their web sites at the Wineries section for more details.

You certainly can if you want to however most patrons go casual. Shorts and sandals are great!
Montaluce has great ambiance and is more formal in appearance. Also less likely to have children eating nearby. The other restaurants downtown tend to be a little more noisier and have TV’s.
Bourbon Street Grill has a back porch area for pets as well as Shenanigan’s. Sorry we cannot accommodate pets at the inn.
Shenanigan’s has an outdoor patio for dining. Bourbon Street has a front porch overlooking the historic square but tables are limited. Capers and Picnic Cafe, Knuckles Sandwich and Connie’s has a few tables in front of the restaurants. Bellies and Butts as well as Yahoola Creek Grill has outside dining.
Gustavo’s Pizza. They also have pint nights on Thursday’s where you keep the glass. Check the black board when you enter to see the beers offered. Always have a high gravity beer featured as well.
Spirit’s Tavern right off the square.
The winery restaurants normally do encourage reservations however the downtown restaurants do not.
The Yard has a dance floor and dancing on weekends.
Shenanigan’s, Bourbon Street and Spirit’s Tavern have free music (acoustic guitar, etc) usually on Friday’s and Saturdays. Crimson Moon normally has music with a cover charge on weekends with many great bands/acts from outside the area.
Shenanigan’s, Bourbon Street Grill and Crimson Moon has a vegan option but not an extensive vegan menu. Spirit’s Tavern has a good veggie burger and veggie sides. Your Pie Pizza has vegan pizza options. If staying at our inn we can provide a great vegan breakfast.
