There are a few dates each year that are important to you and your significant other that cannot be forgotten; birthdays, anniversary/marriage dates and Valentine’s Day. Make this year special and experience a Dahlonega Valentine’s Day this year?
Trying to think of something different to do for your loved one this Valentine’s Day? Has the usual candy, flowers and a dinner out become less a surprise and more a routine? Try something different this year by staying in our quaint bed and breakfast in the North Georgia mountains and wine country. We are centrally located to the wineries, and historic downtown Dahlonega is only 10 minutes away for unique shopping, candy shops and romantic dining. Some of the wineries are also featuring special dinners by reservation in honor of Valentine’s Day – see the list below. If your special someone loves the outdoors there are many waterfalls to hike to and many beautiful hiking trails that we also will list below. These all add up to a great Dahlonega Valentine’s Day celebration.
We are the closest inn to Wolf Mountain Winery. They will be offering Valentine Gourmet brunch on 2/14 with 12:30 and 2:30pm seatings for $35.00 per person, wine excluded. On Friday 2/12 and Saturday 2/13 at 7:00 pm will be Valentine Gourmet Dinners. The dinners will feature 4 courses and pair wine with each course for $80.00 per person. If interested, call 706-867-9862 to make reservations soon because they sell out early! http://wolfmountainvineyards.com.
Frogtown Winery offers Bistro Lunch and dinner. Call 706-865-0687 for reservations and more information. http://www.frogtownwine.com
Montaluce Winery is having their Valentines dinner on 2/14 from 4:30-8:30pm. The 5 course dinner is $150.00 per couple. For $30 per person you can opt for the pre set Sweetheart wine Flight as well. Call 706-867-4060 for more information and reservations. http://montaluce.com
If you decide a winery dinner isn’t quite right for your Valentine’s celebration, visit the historic Dahlonega square for a variety of restaurants with several featuring live music. Bourbon Street Grill has a special Valentines menu. Stop by Paul Thomas Chocolates on the square after dinner for a box of delicious candy. (picture above from Paul Thomas Chocolates)
Cavender Creek Winery does not have wine dinners but they do have a great venue for enjoying wine in the winter months. They have several fire pits on weekends that are always lit and you can enjoy wine, beer, cheese and popcorn. Live music is also playing on weekends.
Looking for an outdoor adventure for that special Dahlonega Valentine’s weekend? Many love to visit Amicalola Falls west of town, Desoto Falls and Raven Cliffs Falls to the north. A link to our related blog post on these and other waterfalls is shown below.
Hiking is also a special way to celebrate the weekend as well. Preacher’s Rock is on the Appalachian trail just north of the inn and features a granite mountaintop with great mountain vistas. If you would rather go horseback riding there are a couple of options. Links below gives more information.
